Blood Donation Day on every 18th : Mumbai

MUMBAI: In a bid to increase voluntary blood donation, the state plans to promote the 18th of every month as the Community Blood Donation Day. The first such drive will be held in July, said senior government officials.

Hospital blast turned blood donors into receivers

AHMEDABAD: The news of the serial blasts drove a group of 15 blood donors to the Civil Hospital. Of these, four lost their lives while 10 others have found themselves in hospital in need of blood themselves.

Mobile blood bank to roll out on October 1

CHENNAI: The largest blood bank in the city - Government General Hospital, which collects at least 75 units of blood every day - is set to launch a mobile bank from next month. One unit is equal to 350 ml.
